Sunday Services

There are two regular Sunday morning services at St Anne’s, 8.30am & 10am.

The 8.30am is a Eucharist (Communion) service based off the New Zealand Prayer Book. We usually begin and end with a hymn and parts of the service are lead by members of the congregation, such as readings and prayers. This Service is around an hour in length.

Usually there’s coffee and morning tea between the two services in the hall, a great chance to connect across our congregation!

The 10am is a space to be creative in the service style. We follow a pattern depending what week of the month it is:

Week 1: Waffles and Wisdom. This is an all-age, cafe-style church held in the hall. We gather, read and discuss a Bible story, make and eat waffles, and have a short time of reflection and prayer before finishing with a song. Everyone is warmly invited to bring toppings to share.

Week 2 and 4: Communion Service held in the church with worship, Bible teaching and time to discuss and reflect together. A children’s programme runs during part of the service.

Week 3: Currently the 10am crew join the 8.30am service in the 3rd Sunday of the month

For those months with a 5th Sunday, we let our creative juices flow! Keep up to date on the Facebook page if this will be a “normal” service, or if we will be out and about helping the community, or cooking a meal to give to those in need.
